The tranquillity of the kingdom is shattered when his nemesis, David Kane (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), seizes the Black Trident and its formidable powers. Kane, fuelled by a desire for revenge over his father's demise, harnesses the Trident's might to escalate a global climate crisis, with the ultimate aim of resurrecting a long-lost aquatic kingdom. As chaos looms and Arthur's son becomes a target, Aquaman must confront this formidable foe.

Jason Momoa once again brings a charismatic touch to the character, and James Wan skillfully draws out both the humour and emotional depth in Momoa's performance. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II commands the screen as the menacing Black Manta, embodying all the requisites of an arch-villain. Patrick Wilson, portraying Orm, offers stellar support to Arthur Curry's character. Keep an eye out for the scene that cleverly references 'Cast Away.'

'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' ticks all the boxes of a superhero film, delivering a larger-than-life world, a balanced mix of entertainment, action, and emotion.
